The Sacramento district attorney’s office has released a statement declaring the domestic abuse charges against Lakers forward Matt Barnes will not be filed. Barnes was arrested last month on suspicion of domestic abuse and violence in Sacramento after an alleged altercation with his fiancee.
Police who arrived at the scene said there was possible evidence of an altercation, but Barnes’ fiancee later claimed the altercation was nothing more than an argument between the two.
This comes as good news for the Lakers, who are about to begin their season tomorrow night in Los Angeles. Both Barnes and the Lakers will be happy to move on from this potential distraction heading into the season.
