Devin Ebanks’ Future with the Los Angeles Lakers Looks Short Lived

The Los Angeles Lakers may be looking for a new small forward as Matt Barnes and Metta World Peace have begun to threaten the possible play time for Devin Ebanks. As he looks to become a restricted free agent on July 1st, Ebanks and his agency have a lot to think about.

Ebanks’ agent, David Bauman, said:

“If [Coach] Mike Brown is going to play with Matt Barnes and [World Peace] next season, Devin’s not going to come back and do that. He’ll find an opportunity where he’ll have a better chance to break into a rotation.”

As of late, Ebanks has either been in the D-league or the end of the bench, while making $789,000 this season with the Lakers, via Mike Bresnahan and Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Times. He was expected to be a sleeper for the team, but so far, has not done much for the Lakers, averaging only 2.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in 13 games.

Ramon Sessions on the other hand, the newest PG to step up after the Lakers traded Derek Fisher, had 14 points and 4 assists during the Lakers loss to Houston on Tuesday. So far, this has pleased the Lakers’ organization. Hopefully we get to see Sessions start in the future and really demonstrate his talent.
