Meeks learned a lot during his time in Los Angeles as a teammate of Kobe’s. Meeks paid tribute to the five-time NBA champion with this post on Instagram:

#TBT…2 dangerous dudes on that court! Appreciate the encouragement last 2 years OG! #respect #buckets

Even though the Los Angeles Lakers struggled to compete and finished with an ugly record of 27-55, Meeks had a career year putting up 15.7 points per game while 46.3 percent from the floor and 40.1 from beyond the arc.

As a result of Meeks’ impressive season, the sharpshooter received considerable interest on the free agent market and ultimately signed a lucrative deal with the Detroit Pistons this summer.
