The Los Angeles Lakers were not expecting Julius Randle to still be available at number seven during the NBA draft, but when he was, the Lakers did not hesitate to pick him up. Lakers Nation interviewed Randle after his solo pre-draft workout with the Lakers, but that was before he was an official member with the purple and gold.

Now that Randle’s a Laker, we took a couple minutes to get to know him even better. We threw some random rapid fire questions at him, like Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan? And, what about Kobe have people warned him about already? Plus, Randle, who grew up a Lakers fanatic, tells us about his most memorable moment as a fan. It’s all in our exclusive interview above.

Below, check out Julius Randle’s introductory press conference at the Lakers facility on Monday morning. Randle answers a wide variety of questions from the possibility of playing alongside Pau Gasol, giving us the latest on his foot and why he chose the number 30.
