Kobe Bryant Discusses Relationship With Hakeem Olajuwon

During Lakers Media Day, Kobe Bryant was asked about the time he spent working with Hakeem Olajuwon, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest centers to ever play the game.

Olajuwon, who won back-to-back championships as the face of the Houston Rockets in the mid-1990s, is a Hall of Famer that dominated in the low post with his well-known ‘Dream Shake.’ Bryant recently spent some time working with Olajuwon, and talked about the impact it had on his game.

“There was a particular move we were working on. He was sitting courtside during the Houston game and I did the move for him. Going back down the court I slapped him on the knee.”

Typical Kobe.

Bryant has discussed working with former players in the past, and is always attempting to evolve his game and add to his repertoire. Mirroring a player as dominant as Olajuwon was certainly good for business, and Bryant has said numerous times that it helped his moves in the paint.
