Kobe Bryant Responds To D’Angelo Russell’s Tweet About Tracy McGrady

Earlier this week, Los Angeles Lakers rookie D’Angelo Russell sent out a tweet that created quite a buzz on Twitter. Russell claimed that Tracy McGrady may have been the greatest NBA player of all-time. An interesting position considering Russell will be playing alongside five-time NBA champion, Kobe Bryant next season.

As expected, Kobe responded to Russell’s McGrady tweet in classic fashion a day later:

Ironically enough, Russell recently called Kobe “my Michael Jordan” and that playing alongside the future Hall of Famer would be the “highlight of his life.” Russell’s phone must’ve been blowing up after Bryant’s tweet because immediately starting tweeting back:

After somewhat of an apology, Kobe fired back with some positivity to the 19-year-old:

It may be safe to assume Kobe already has Russell in his crosshairs with Lakers training camp around the corner. It won’t be all that surprising to hear the trash talk flowing at the practice facility in El Segundo next month and that may be a good thing for both players as well as the team.
