The Los Angeles Lakers come into Wednesday’s game against the Houston Rockets dealing with an injury-plagued squad and having lost three straight games. Although the Lakers could’ve come out on top in the last two games against the Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz losing by small margins in both contests, injuries have taken a toll, but good news has surfaced on Nick Young and Larry Nance Jr.

According to Mike Bresnahan of Spectrum SportsNet, Young has made the trip with the team to Houston and has started shooting while dealing with the calf injury:

As for Nance, the second-year forward will be available to play tonight against the Rockets, via Bresnahan:

Nance has been dealing with a knee contusion that he suffered in the loss to the Toronto Raptors last Friday. The Lakers have been cautious with the Wyoming product due to his injury history and had him sit out the last two games.

Young, however, was thought to have gone down with a serious Achilles injury last week in the loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. The veteran was expected to miss a considerable amount of time in what was eventually diagnosed as a calf strain, but he seems to be progressing well and might be back on the floor sooner rather than later.

Following tonight’s game against the Rockets, the Lakers will head back home to face the Phoenix Suns (Friday) and New York Knicks (Sunday) before embarking on a seven-game road trip.
