Lakers Nation is Ready for Trophy No. 17

With the 2011 Season upon us, everyone here at Lakers Nation has been getting ready this off-season to make this very historic run. After our great success last year as a rookie blog, we have accomplished so much more than we could have ever imagined. With over 70,000 fans on facebook and 23,000 followers (at the time of the article), we have embraced social media to help create a community of Laker Fans from around the world, now known as Lakers Nation.

With the first full year in the books, we’ve got a lot of NEW exciting features that some of you have already seen on the site.

The New Design

Last year, we took Laker Blogs to another level by introducing a different type of layout that helped showcase all the best content from our awesome staff of writers. It wasn’t until we were getting an insane amount of traffic that we realized the design could only handle a certain level of traffic before it would slow down and bog down the site. So, we set out and decided to create a design that was light, flexible and able to handle all the traffic the internet can throw us!

Key Features:

  • A Faster Load Time for the entire site.
  • Daily News Section that will highlight the Lakers & NBA News from around the net
  • Hot Topics Section – Featuring the most popular of Lakers Nation content
  • A Better Commenting System to make sure your voices are heard. Login with Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, OpenID, etc.

Our New Forum Club

We are proud to announce our merger with another popular Lakers site, LakersCorner.net! This merger will provide Lakers Nation with a another community for our fans to talk about the everything Lakers – News, Rumors, Gossip & Other Sports Topics.

With the merger of Lakers Corner and Lakers Nation, you now have everything necessary to fulfill your Lakers appetite. From the original content and editorials we are so proud of, to a fan-based forum that allows you to get involved and chat with other members of the largest Lakers fan site on the internet!

We also know that it’s a pain in the butt to register a new account for stuff like forums, so we’ve made it super easy with the ability to easily create an account with your Facebook Login.
