Lakers Nation Reacts: Who Has Had The Better Career – CP3 or Pau Gasol?

655120_1It was only a couple short years ago that the Los Angeles Lakers believed they acquired their point guard of the future when they agreed to trade Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom to the Houston Rockets and the New Orleans Hornets (three-team trade) for perennial All-Star Chris Paul.

Of course, that was not meant to be as NBA Commissioner David Stern vetoed the trade, and Paul ended up as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers just days later.

Paul is considered by many to be the best point guard of this generation, but Pau Gasol has had an outstanding career to this date and is considered by many to be the most offensively skilled big man in the NBA today.

We asked Lakers Nation who has had the better career thus far, Gasol or Paul, and these were the results:

Overwhelmingly, the fans believe the Spainiard has had the better career thus far. Undoubtedly, this has a lot to do with Gasol owning two NBA championship rings, while Paul has yet to make it past the 2nd round of the playoffs.

It should also be noted that the two are at different points in their career, with Gasol being 32 and at the end of his prime. while Paul is 27 and right in the middle of his.

Paul obviously has more years to eventually catch Gasol’s career accomplishments, but clearly when it comes to Lakers Nation, it’s rings over everything.
