Lakers News And Rumors Recap: Kobe Bryant Willing To Help Organization
Kobe Bryant Is Receiving Film Advice From Steven Spielberg Among Others

The basketball world hasn’t heard much from Kobe Bryant since he dropped 60 points in his final NBA game back in April. Bryant has been busy starting a venture capital firm among other things. However, Kobe recently said he is just a “phone call away” if the Lakers, specifically the Buss family, should need him.

The Lakers are currently in a tough position, chase the playoffs or tank for a chance at a top-3 pick. Jim Buss’ self-imposed deadline is fast approaching and Jeanie Buss has repeatedly said she will hold her brother accountable. What that means exactly is still to be seen.

Although Kobe was a phenomenal player, it’s not clear how he would help the Lakers situation on the ownership side. It would be nice to see Kobe take the young players under his wing and mentor them. The team will forever be playing in his shadow until they re-emerge as a contender.
