Lakers News And Rumors Recap: Nick Young To Miss Friday’s Game?
Lakers Nation Podcast: Breaking Down Loss To Mavs, Luke Walton’s Rotation

After struggling through one of the worst seasons of his career and going through a public feud with D’Angelo Russell last season, Nick Young was figured to be on his way out of Los Angeles. Much to the surprise of skeptics, Young has become a staple in first-year head coach Luke Walton’s team.

Young is averaging 13 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists while shooting a career-high 45 percent from the field. Even more impressive, Young has actually been trying on defense. Young is usually the first person to guard the other team’s best player, something that would have been inconceivable in year’s past.

While it’s good to see Young back and contributing to the purple and gold, the Lakers may be without their starting shooting guard against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday. Young missed practice on Thursday with a head cold and is ‘probable’ for tonight’s matchup, according to reports from Mark Medina.

Should Young miss time, Jordan Clarkson or Lou Williams figure to step into the starting lineup. Brandon Ingram could play the two should Luke decide to go big against the Spurs.
