Some say that the most important part of basketball attire is shoes. It says a lot about a player; it is their first impression to everyone else.

Many players including Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James have changed the shoe landscape of basketball with their personalized style of sneakers.

Projected lottery pick, De’Aaron Fox out of the University of Kentucky, has played a lot of basketball during his lifetime. From high school basketball to the college level at with John Calipari. He has played in many different basketball shoes during his playing days, and in an interview with Sports Illustrated Andrew Sharpe, Fox said his favorite shoes are from Kobe Bryant.

“Kobe’s,” Fox said. “For sure, for sure. I’m a Kobe fan.”

It is difficult to argue with Fox’s statement because many current NBA and collegiate players can be seen rocking Kobe’s signature shoes during games. Kobe’ shoes changed drastically from his early playing days all the way to his last season and during his retirement.

Most people associate his shoes with the low-top style because of the stylish and sleek look, but he also incorporated the high-top style into his shoe line. The Huarache 2K4’s and the Kobe 9’s were both high-tops that saw many basketball players at all levels play in.

With a slim chance to be selected by the Lakers with the second overall pick this upcoming NBA Draft, Fox definitely puts himself in good standing with Lakers fans and most importantly, Kobe himself by saying Kobe’s are his favorite shoes to play in. It is uncertain if Fox will land a shoe deal with one the major shoe companies, but it is probably a safe bet to assume he will be wearing a version of Kobe sneakers to start his professional career.
