Lakers News: Dwight Howard Says “We’re Not Done Yet”

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Indiana PacersIt was quite fitting how the Lakers ended the regular season on Wednesday night. The Houston Rockets had control of most of the first three quarters and were exposing the Lakers’ greatest weakness: their transition defense.

While the Rockets maintained a cushion for these three quarters, the Lakers somehow managed to stay in the hunt. Then, they truly began to fight back. It may have taken overtime to seal the deal, but the Lakers showed that when they play to win, they are not a team to overlook.

That was the sentiment Dwight Howard talked about after their win on Wednesday. He also gave everyone a little message that every Lakers fan should enjoy (per Dave McMenamin of ESPNLA):

“Everybody counted us out. But one thing I told the guys is we’ve been through so much that could have made us separate from each other,” Howard said. “But we stayed strong, we stayed together and we won for each other.”

“We’re happy that we’re in the playoffs, but we’re not done yet.”

It has been a crazy season. Despite being written off earlier in the season due to a chaotic and circus-like atmosphere surrounding the purple and gold, they not only made it to the postseason, but they were able to land the match-up they wanted; a date with the San Antonio Spurs.

The fans aren’t done yet as well. The craziness of the regular season is now behind them. Finally. Now, the focus is solely on the postseason. The team and the fans will take it one game at a time.

What about all the drama during the season? As long as the result is winning, Lakers Nation will accept it. It is Hollywood after all.
