Lakers News: Kobe Bryant Drenched In Golden Slime At Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice Awards

Kobe Bryant has been enjoying retirement after 20 incredible seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers legend recently announced that his wife, Vanessa, is pregnant with their third daughter.

The Bryant family was in attendance at the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards, and Kobe was honored in an unusual way. Kobe received the Legend Award based on the votes of children around America, and during his acceptance speech he was drenched in golden slime.

NBA champion J.R. Smith of the Cleveland Cavaliers was in attendance with his daughters and took to Instagram to show Kobe his appreciation:

Lakers Nation has grown accustomed to seeing “Fun Kobe” during his last season in the NBA, as he was often seen smiling and joking around with opposing players even while the Lakers were down big. The moment at the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards was no different, as Kobe shrugged off the slime with a smile while the kids chanted his name.

The 18-time All-Star has not left the spotlight quite yet, despite retiring over two months ago. The fact is that Kobe is not going anywhere, and Lakers fans are always going to pay attention wherever he may decide to pop up.

The Kid’s Choice Awards will air on Sunday, July 17, at 5 p.m. On Nickelodeon.
