Lakers News: Kobe Bryant Tweets That He Is Off Crutches

On Tuesday afternoon Kobe Bryant tweeted that he is off of his crutches and walking.

In April Kobe had surgery on his torn Achilles and was expected to be limited to crutches for months. The fact that he already walk without them is only a positive sign moving forward regarding his availability for the start of 2013-14 regular season.

Bryant is still expected to continue rehabbing throughout the summer in what he expects to be a lengthy recovery process. The journey back to the basketball court will be a long one for Kobe, but he’s shown so far that he’s determined to do all that he can to make sure he’ll be ready come October.

Along with the news that he’s off his crutches, Bryant has talked about a variety of different topics lately, from the start of next season to his own thoughts on the comparisons between himself and Michael Jordan. Regardless, the fact that there is more optimism surrounding Bryant this soon after the injury is an encouraging sign for the Lakers.
