Ever since the Laker season ended last month, one of the main focuses has been the upcoming NBA Draft. After Tuesday’s NBA Draft Lottery, the complete draft order is now set.

Following the results, the Lakers will be selecting with the number seven overall pick.

Despite finishing with the sixth worst record over the past season, other teams jumped the Lakers to push them down. Coming into the night, the Lakers had a 21.5 percent chance of moving up while having a 34.5 percent chance of ending up with their pick.

Although the Lakers fell, there are a variety of options available for the Lakers. General manager Mitch Kupchak revealed the team is open to trading the pick for the right price. Should the Lakers stay put, they can look to fill one of their roster spots with a young prospect.

As it stands, the Lakers have a need at essentially all positions and could benefit from selecting someone from the draft. According to the MyNBADraft’s last mock draft before the lottery results, Arizona’s Aaron Gordon and Kentucky’s Julius Randle could be viable options when the Lakers are on the clock.

Now that the Lakers know where they are drafting, the search for a head coach is expected to pick up. The team has a better idea how they want to assemble the roster and can begin making better pitches to potential candidates. Whether the new coach will have some input with the draft pick remains to be seen.
