Lakers News: Nick Young Hoping To Return Sunday Against Nets

UPDATE (1:04 PM): Nick Young will play against the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.

UPDATE (9:07 PM): Nick Young has been cleared to play on Sunday.

While the Lakers have continued to be plagued by the injury bug, the team is finally getting some healthy bodies back in the line up. Both Jodie Meeks and Jordan Farmar returned to the team on Tuesday and Pau Gasol is suiting up for the game against the Celtics on Thursday. Good news has continued for the Lakers as Nick Young is looking toward a return to the team on Sunday.

According to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters, Young is hoping to return against Brooklyn:

The team has been struggling mightily without both Young and Pau who were leading the team in points per game at 16.9 and 17 respectively. Young has been out since February 4th when he injured his knee in the game against the Cavaliers. He was given a two-week minimum diagnosis and a return on Sunday would put his return in the latter end of that timetable.

Young has always been one of the more vibrant players on the team who really helps add some fun to the games. The team has really missed Young’s extra punch off the bench, as he would often come off the bench and inject some life into the second unit. Hopefully the return of all these players will help the team turn things around and return to their early season form. One thing all Lakers fan can count on when Young returns, is that the “swag” level of the team will definitely rise.
