The Los Angeles Lakers got their first win in eight games as they defeated the Boston Celtics on Sunday night. Most of the attention, rightfully, went to Jeremy Lin, but Nick Young also had his best game in a long time. Young scored 19 points and shot over 50 percent from the field for the first time in over a month.

The next day, Young didn’t practice because of knee soreness. The MRI on that knee came back negative, but according to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News, it will keep him out of tonight’s game against the Utah Jazz:

Young hasn’t had the season everyone hoped when the Lakers signed him to a four-year contract this off-season. Still, with all of the injuries the Lakers have suffered this year, Young was one of the few Lakers who could consistently get his own shot.

Young being out, along with Ronnie Price being lost for the season with elbow surgery, has again diminished the Lakers bench and the team will only be suiting up 10 players in Utah.

The loss of Young also significantly limits the Lakers’ backcourt. Lin, Jordan Clarkson, and Wayne Ellington are the only healthy guards meaning Wesley Johnson will have to play more in the backcourt to make up for the losses of Young and Price.
