Lakers News: Nick Young Wants Nothing To Do With The Skeleton

Nick Young is one of the most fun-loving, easygoing players on the Lakers roster. He is always laughing, smiling, and joking with his teammates, keeping everyone in good spirits.

One of Young’s most fun moments came during the team’s preseason trip to China when he crashed while tobogganing and almost injured himself.

That moment has clearly stuck with Young. In an interview with Lakers Reporter Mike Trudell, he was asked if he’d rather win a gold medal for curling or skeleton. Young quickly remembered his adventure in China:

Skeleton, most definitely. Curling is where they push the thing, right? OH wait… skeleton is where you go head first down the ice? No way, I’m changing my answer. I’m not doing anything that’s called the skeleton. I almost didn’t make it back alive from my China trip going down the huge slide, so I don’t want to push my luck.

The skeleton is an relatively dangerous sport where you slide head first down an ice track at speeds greater than 80 miles per hour. For Young’s well-being, it probably is better if he goes with curling.

Curling is a much lower-impact sport, and it would be great to see Young running in front of the stone, sweeping away, or the great celebration he would do after an excellent score.

One thing is for sure, Young would bring more swag to curling than anyone before him.
