Lakers News: Pau Gasol Won’t Travel To Milwaukee, Minnesota

Pau Gasol was diagnosed with vertigo on Monday, after leaving during the Lakers win Sunday night over the Orlando Magic.

The Lakers did not miss a beat without their star big man, erupting for a 31 point victory over the New York Knicks last night. Now they will have to keep it going.

Lakers reporter Mike Trudell reports that Gasol will not travel with the team for their next two games:

Chris Kaman stepped into the starting lineup last night and had a solid game with 13 points and nine rebounds. He also had a great run last month while Gasol was injured, so the Lakers have a capable replacement.

Even still, losing Gasol is still a huge blow for this team. The offense runs through Gasol and switching that up makes things more difficult for this team.

With these next two games being on the road, a tall task becomes even tougher for the Lakers. The Bucks defeated the Lakers earlier this season in Los Angeles while the Timberwolves have won two of three against the Lakers.

There is no timetable as to when Gasol will return to the starting lineup, but with only 12 games remaining in the season, Gasol doesn’t have much time to recover.

These will mark the 12th and 13th games that Gasol has missed this season due to injury.
