Lakers News: Rockets’ Dwight Howard Wishes LA Fans Best In Exit

Dwight HowardDwight Howard can’t officially become a member of the Houston Rockets until July 10, but he announced his decision tonight that he would sign there.

Howard was reportedly signing with Houston for most of the day, but it was quickly reported that he had changed his mind and was actually 50-50.

Regardless, Howard will sign with the Rockets wish Lakers fans well on Twitter tonight:

“I’ve decided to become a member of the Houston Rockets. I feel its the best place for me and I am excited about joining the Rockets and I’m looking forward to a great season. I want to thank the fans in Los Angeles and wish them the best.”

Howard will join a Rockets team with a young core centered around James Harden and Chandler Parsons, while the Lakers are left without any return for the seven-time All-Star.

Lakers fans won’t be happy with the way everything played out and justifiably so, but it sounds like Howard couldn’t live up to the pressure that goes with wearing the purple and gold.
