The NBA Draft is steadily approaching and the Los Angeles Lakers are continuing to bring in prospects for workouts. This year, they have a first-round draft pick at selection No. 25 and they have to do their homework.
It remains to be seen whether L.A. will ultimately make the pick, but they are taking the necessary steps to bring in players that caught their eye. In this recent workout on Jun. 2, one notable name was UCLA guard Skyy Clark, amongst others, via Cody Taylor of The Rookie Wire:

Clark is a 6’3″ guard who played his final two seasons of college at UCLA, with his senior year arguably being the most impactful. He put up 11.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists on 46.9% from the field and 42.7% from 3-point range.
However, it is hard to imagine Los Angeles taking a guard at No. 25 due to the depth they have at the position. With the draft taking place before free agency, selecting a guard would be an inherent risk given how many Los Angeles would like to retain before even getting to a rookie.
On the other hand, Trey Kaufman-Renn of Purdue is a scoring forward that averaged 14.2 points and eight rebounds on 57.8% from the field. He would provide some much-needed size and a rebounding presence on the wing at 6’9″.
Lastly, Tamin Lipsey of Iowa State and Peter Suder of Miami (OH) are two scoring-minded guards. Lipsey is on the shorter side at 6’1″, but averaged 13.5 points and 5.1 assists on 45.9% from the field and 31.6% from 3-point range. Suder at 6’5″ put up 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and four assists on 54.6% from the field and 42.1% from 3-point distance.
Other prospects Lakers have worked out ahead of 2026 NBA Draft
Once the Lakers were eliminated by the Oklahoma City Thunder, general manager Rob Pelinka detailed in his end-of-season press conference that he was immediately beginning to dive into the draft process. With an expanding front office, there are more hands on deck when it comes to evaluating and working out prospects.
So far, Los Angeles has brought in a vast number of prospects to their facility for workouts, including Zuby Ejiofor, Alex Karaban, Baba Miller, Peter Suder, Rafael Castro, Jaden Henley, Sam Alexis, Drake Allen, Duke Brennan, Keba Keita, Malachi Moreno, Mike Sharavjamts, Marquel Sutton and Mohamed Wague.
