With so many new players on the roster, the Los Angeles Lakers will need some time to gel together and build up some chemistry. And in embracing his role as the leader of this squad, superstar guard Luka Doncic hosted a minicamp for the entire roster in his home country of Slovenia in order to start that process of getting the team to come together as a unit.
The team took part in many different activities as it was a true bonding experience, but of course there was plenty of basketball being played as well. And some highlights of their time on the court in Slovenia were recently released, via Lakers on X:

It is great to see the Lakers putting in work with many different players already looking ready to go. Doncic and Austin Reaves, of course, were all over the video, though it was pretty difficult figuring out who was who as Doncic adopted the Reaves’ headband and the two looked practically identical without the help of a jersey number.
Regardless, both looked like their regular season selves, attacking the rim and finishing or creating easy finishes for the likes of Walker Kessler and Ziaire Williams. New signee Quentin Grimes was also showing off his 1-on-1 capabilities, looking more than capable of creating his own buckets, something that should be even easier for him playing off of Reaves and Doncic.
Players like Bronny James, Adou Thiero and Dalton Knecht also had moments in the video as the Lakers will look to hit the ground running this season.
Expectations for this team are somewhat middling right now as many feel the loss of LeBron James and multiple other role players has set this team back for this coming season. But with Doncic leading the way, Reaves locked down on a new multi-year deal and a host of role players that fit the duo well, the Lakers believe they will be able to compete with the best the Western Conference has to offer. And they will get the chance to prove it soon.
Byron Scott concerned about Lakers’ defense this season
While the Lakers should be able to generate many points thanks to the duo of Doncic and Reaves, which was the highest scoring in the NBA last season, there are some concerns about whether this team can get enough stops on the defensive end and former coach Byron Scott is one of those who is worried about this exact thing.
