The Los Angeles Lakers made history during the 2017 NBA Draft when they chose guard Lonzo Ball with the No. 2 overall pick. With a clear-cut point guard and leader of the franchise, the Lakers have an optimistic base to work with moving forward.

The media came in bunches during his introductory press conference, as he, Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka shed light on the direction the Lakers are headed in. Johnson wasn’t shy in stating that he envisions Ball’s jersey in the rafters and that he wants a few of his records to remain.

Ball now has a chance to learn from many legendary point guards that paved the way for him, while also getting the one-on-one experience from Johnson. In fact, Ball was seen recently working with NBA legend Isiah Thomas, getting acquainted at his house in Chino Hills.

The UCLA product gave Thomas an intricate look at his workouts, alongside his father, his brothers and his trainer. During the workout, Thomas gave some tips on how Ball can take his game to the next level, as he transitions towards getting acclimated to the NBA game.

Thomas, a 12-time All-Star, always believed that the mental aspects are as important as the physical parts of the game. Throughout the video, the Hall-of-Famer spoke to keeping his calm demeanor while on the court, referring to music as an outlet.

Being the respected figure he is, Thomas always demands respect from any current NBA players. Thomas paved his way to five All-NBA selections, while also being named the 1989-90 NBA Finals MVP.

Ball seems ready to get to work, to demonstrate his on-court talents and to make his teammates better. He has demonstrated this mature approach when dealing with the media, eager to let his game do the talking.
