Luka Doncic played much of last season with the Los Angeles Lakers under significant personal stress. While the story stayed under wraps for much of the year, it was eventually revealed that he and his fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, were splitting up and a custody and child-support battle was underway.
This story was part of the reason that Doncic chose not to suit up for the Slovenian national team this summer, one of the first times in his professional career that he has made that choice. But it seems that the two have had some sort of reconciliation, as Goltes has reportedly tried to drop her case against him, via TMZ:
Luka Doncic’s ex-fiancée is dropping her court case over child support for their two children, TMZ Sports has learned.
In court docs Anamaria Goltes submitted Monday that were obtained by TMZ, she requested a Los Angeles judge dismiss her request without prejudice, reasoning … “I am withdrawing my Petition for Child Support with the specific intention of resolving this matter amicably and by a mutual agreement which is in the best interests of our children.”
Anamaria’s request to dismiss was rejected by the court, due to the paperwork missing Luka’s signature.
While the motion was unsuccessful, reportedly due to Doncic’s missing signature, it shows that the pair are attempting to figure out something beyond a legal battle. Doncic said in his press release regarding the Slovenian national team that he would be spending the summer with his daughters, and perhaps some time together has helped mend fences.
This, if true, is fantastic news for Doncic, who won’t have to return to the United States for the upcoming Lakers season with a massive cloud hanging over him.
Luka Doncic hosting Lakers for minicamp in Slovenia
The Lakers are officially, and unquestionably, Doncic’s team now that LeBron James has moved on to the Philadelphia 76ers. Among Doncic’s first actions as the clear top dog in L.A. was to invite the entire team to Slovenia for a four-day minicamp in August.
Doncic is reportedly footing the entire bill for the full roster — minus Cameron Carr due to a required rookie minicamp — to come to Slovenia for four days and begin their work on the 2026-27 NBA campaign.
