Staples Center Unveil New Courts for Lakers and Clippers

Along with the addition of superstars Steve Nash and Dwight Howard over the summer, the Los Angeles Lakers will also have a new court to play on during the 2012-13 NBA season at the Staples Center.

A preview of the new look for the court the Lakers willing be playing on this season was posted on Twitter by @STAPLESCenter. The preview shows the new courts for both the Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers:

The debut of the Lakers’ new court will be on Saturday, Oct. 13. The Lakers will take on the Utah Jazz on Saturday in their third preseason game. Five more games follow with the Lakers facing the Jazz one more time at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on Tuesday, Oct. 16.

After squaring off against the Jazz for a second time, the Lakers will head to Las Vegas, Nevada to face the division rival Sacramento Kings at the Thomas & Mack Center. This will be the first of three games against the Kings in the preseason with the second being played at the Staples Center on Sunday, Oct. 21 and the third in San Diego, California on Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Valley View Casino Center.

The matchup against the Kings in San Diego will be the final pre-season game for the Lakers, but they will face the Clippers on their new floor at the Staples Center as the away team on Wednesday, Oct. 24 before taking the Kings a day later.
