Head coach Byron Scott has been playing things very cautiously in regards to Steve Nash so far in training camp. He has held him out of extra practices and sat Nash in the team’s second preseason game.

Unfortunately, things still don’t seem to be going right for Nash as he apparently asked to be taken out of the game tonight according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Not feeling quite right is a very vague statement and could mean any number of things. Nonetheless, hearing something like that, especially in regards to Nash is sure to have Lakers fans everywhere shaking their heads.

Nash has been working out all summer in preparation for what is likely his final season in the NBA. He knows he has been a disappointment so far in Los Angeles because of constant injuries and he wants to right the ship.

No one knows exactly what was wrong with Nash today, but he struggled mightily to stay in front of Warriors guard Stephen Curry who made eight of his 11 shots in route to 25 points in the Warriors second consecutive preseason victory over the Lakers.

If Nash does indeed need to sit out, the Lakers will be extremely thin at point guard. Jordan Clarkson strained his calf on Thursday and will be out at least a week, while Jeremy Lin sprained his ankle in practice on Saturday.
