EL SEGUNDO, CA (January 2, 2014) – Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes have launched the “Planet Lakers” and “Lakers Corazón” sweepstakes as part of fan-focused campaigns that celebrate passionate Lakers fans on both networks. Fans are invited to show their love of the team by submitting videos expressing their Lakers fandom to the websites www.twcsportsnet.com/planetlakers and www.twcdeportes.com/lakerscorazon and their videos will have the chance to be featured on “#LakeShow,” “Lakers en Vivo” and “Somos Lakers” throughout the season, as well as on the networks’ websites and social media outlets. The sweepstakes will run all season long and at the end of the 2013-14 Lakers season, one grand prize winner from each network will receive two tickets to a Lakers game and the opportunity to appear in studio.

As Time Warner Cable Deportes is the first network ever to bring all-things purple and gold to the Lakers’ Hispanic fan base, this is also the first time that the Lakers’ Spanish-speaking followers will be celebrated in this way.

“Planet Lakers” and “Lakers Corazón” segments have been featured on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes already this season. Time Warner Cable SportsNet has aired stories about fans like David Kohler, who had the chance to show Magic Johnson and “Planet Lakers” around his Lakers shrine (link: https://www.twcsportsnet.com/videos/2013/12/16/planet-lakers–magic-johnson-appears) and Martin Espinoza of Ontario, the world’s #1 Lakers fan, who has “LAKERS” mowed into his front lawn (link: http://www.twcsportsnet.com/videos/2013/11/03/lakers-planet-martin-espinoza).

The “Planet Lakers” and “Lakers Corazón” sweepstakes are yet another way that Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes give fans more access to their favorite team than they’ve ever had before. Time Warner Cable SportsNet’s fan-driven social media show “#LakeShow” and interactive “James Worthy Lakers Line” on “Access SportsNet: Lakers” are also examples of how the network makes Lakers fans a part of the on-air conversation every day.

Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes can be found on AT&T U-verse, Bright House Networks, Catalina Broadband, Champion Broadband, Charter, Cox Communications, DIRECTV, Hawaiian Telcom, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS systems.
