After undergoing surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff, Kobe Bryant’s season was cut short for the third consecutive year. Bryant has spent his entire career in a Laker uniform and will be looking to come back for his 20th year.

While taking his time to recover, Bryant stayed in Los Angeles and made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The two have known each other for a while, having met when both started their careers in Los Angeles.

During the interview, Bryant and Fallon recalled one of their nights together during the Laker’s rookie season. They drove around Los Angeles looking to get beer, but ended up at the delivery grocer, Pink Dot.

Initially, the pair was denied entrance to the building since the company doesn’t service customers the way a normal grocery store would. Bryant then mentioned he played for the Lakers, and the store employee allowed the two to enter and walk out with the beer they needed.
