Although Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant is now retired, he is far from being out of the spotlight. Bryant recently starred in a commercial for Copa America, which is set to begin a little less than two weeks away on U.S. soil.
This is the first time that the Copa America will be hosted outside of South America, so FOX Sports was sure to bring out the big guns to help promote this huge event.
Kobe spent some time in Italy as a kid while his father played professional basketball, so naturally he became an avid soccer player. He’s even mentioned how playing soccer ultimately helped him become a better basketball player. Kobe is also known for his close relationships with soccer greats such as Ronaldinho and fellow international sports icon Lionel Messi, who is set to participate in this year’s event for his native Argentina.
The Copa America begins on June 3rd with a match between the U.S. and Colombia.
