VIDEO: Rajon Rondo Jokes Kobe Blew Him Off, Praises Jordan Clarkson

Rajon Rondo and Kobe Bryant made headlines this past December when the pair was spotted together enjoying brunch in Boston, spiraling a slew of rumors about Bryant recruiting Rondo to Los Angeles. Since then, Rondo was traded (check out Bryant’s reaction to the trade, here) to the Dallas Mavericks and Bryant was declared out for the season after a torn rotator cuff injury.

On Sunday night, Rondo was back in Bryant territory, as the Mavericks beat the Lakers 120-106 at Staples Center. In the video above, Rondo jokes about Bryant “bailing on him” and is asked whether he expects to chat with Bryant in July. Plus, Rondo assesses point guard Jordan Clarkson, commending the rookie for playing under control

He played really well tonight. Shot the ball well, played under control. Did as best as he could to try to lead his team to a victory,” Rondo said of Clarkson.

After the game, Jordan Clarkson put Rondo in the category of the most challenging point guards he’s matched up with this season, alongside Ty Lawson, Steph Curry, Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook. Lakers head coach Byron Scott thought Clarkson could have been more careful with the ball, and would like him to be more vocal as he progresses.

The Lakers take on the Sacramento Kings on Monday night, before prepping for their final game of the season on Wednesday.
