One of those is former Syracuse point guard Tyler Ennis, who, like Nash, is considered a true point guard who excels at getting his teammates the ball. The LA Daily News’ Mark Medina spoke to Ennis about Steve Nash’s recovery from his nagging injuries:

No one will ever doubt Nash’s heart. He is going to fight with everything he has to return to the court and contribute to the Lakers in what will likely be his final season in the NBA.

If nothing else, Nash could end up helping Ennis if the latter joins the Lakers in the draft. The Lakers are looking for a point guard of the future and Ennis will almost definitely be available when the Lakers select.

Ennis took part in the Lakers massive workout today and was matched head-up with Marcus Smart, the man who many believe is the second best point guard prospect in the draft behind only Australian phenom Dante Exum.

Ennis is very close to Nash and the possibility of learning under him for a year has to be appealing to the former Syracuse star. One thing is for sure, Nash will do everything in his power to be there for the Lakers.
