On Wednesday, the Lakers held a pre-draft workout with potential lottery picks who could be available for the Lakers to take with their current seventh overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

Among the players working out was former UCLA guard Zach LaVine. LaVine was known as an incredibly athletic guard and streaky shooter during his only season at UCLA. Scouts, however, wonder whether he can transition to the point guard position.

On Wednesday his athleticism was certainly on display at the Lakers workout. LaVine turned in a Lakers pre-draft workout record 46-inch vertical, showing why GMs rave about his potential.

According to our own Serena Winters, LaVine said his vertical was inspired by being in the presence of the Lakers.

LaVine will definitely be one of the prospects that will be intriguing to watch make the transition from the college game to the pros. LaVine was a player that was able to thrive on blowing past his opponents and just being flat out more skilled and now will face the challenge of playing against players who are just as, or more athletic than him.

According to Serena Winters, LaVine said its all about maturity at the next level.

The Lakers have a lot of options heading into draft day as to what they might want to do with their pick. They can trade it for players or other picks or draft a player they believe will set them up for the future.

Whatever they decide to do with their pick, it will be an interesting process and something to keep your eyes on. LaVine could continue to rise up draft boards with workouts like this.
