With less than 10 days until the NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers are currently working out numerous prospects for their 2nd, 27th and 34th picks. While the team has worked out Jahlil Okafor, Kristaps Porzingis, D’Angelo Russell and Emmanuel Mudiay, the Lakers have not been able to schedule one with Karl-Anthony Towns yet.

Towns is considered this year’s top prospect and according to RealGM’s Shams Charania, the Kentucky big man will visit the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday:
Kentucky’s Karl-Anthony Towns, the favorite for the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft, will visit the Timberwolves in Minneapolis on Friday, league sources told RealGM.
For now, it is unclear if Towns will participate in a private workout for the Timberwolves on Friday, but the two sides have finalized the meeting.
Since the NBA Draft Lottery last month, there have been conflicting reports on who the Timberwolves will select with their first overall pick. While Towns is still expected to go first, head coach Flip Saunders reportedly prefers Okafor.
With Towns meeting with the Timberwolves on Friday, it will mark the first time he has met with an NBA team during this process. The Kentucky forward has been working out in Los Angeles and recently had lunch with current Laker, Julius Randle. Following the lunch, Towns shared that he would love to play with Kobe Bryant.
For the Lakers, Towns is reportedly their top prospect in the draft, but they will likely have to choose between Okafor and Russell on June 25. Along with the No. 2 pick, Randle and Jordan Clarkson, there will be plenty of excitement for the franchise as they head to the Las Vegas Summer League beginning on July 10.
