Steve Nash Experienced ‘Little Sciatica Problem’ Against Warriors

Steve Nash

Among the many stories that came out of the Los Angeles Lakers embarrassing 116-75 preseason loss to the Golden State Warriors was Steve Nash sitting out after the first quarter of the game. Most assumed it was for rest purposes, but after the game, Byron Scott revealed that Nash said he didn’t feel quite right.

Today, Nash revealed that he had a sciatica issue according to the OC Register’s Janis Carr:

For those unfamiliar, sciatica describes the symptoms of leg pain and possibly tingling, numbness or weakness that originates in the lower back and travels through the buttock and down the large sciatic nerve in the back of the leg according to spine-health.com.

In other words, Nash is experiencing some of the same nerve issues that have plagued him throughout the last two seasons. It is undoubtedly a troubling thing to hear for all Lakers fans.

Nash has worked tirelessly to prepare himself for the upcoming season and to hear him experiencing nerve issues before the season has even began can not possibly be good news.

With Jeremy Lin dealing with a sprained ankle and Jordan Clarkson having a strained calf, the Lakers’ top three point guards are all dealing with some sort of ailment right now. Hopefully, for the sake of the Lakers, this doesn’t turn into a repeat of last season.
