Steve Nash Hopes To ‘Bounce Back Quickly’ After Latest Setback

Steve Nash

Steve Nash’s time in Los Angeles has been rough to say the least. When the two-time NBA MVP actually gets on the floor and is able to play considerable minutes, the results are good with the veteran showing signs of his old form. When he’s dealing with health issues, it seems like the same old story every single week.

Unfortunately on Saturday, it was more of the same from Nash before heading into practice. The 40-year-old talked about his latest injury setback saying the following, according to Mike Trudell of Lakers.com:

With “shooting pains” going down his leg and injuries being caused by getting out of bed in the morning or simply lifting bags off the ground, Nash’s future remains up in the air once again heading into his third season with the Lakers.

During the off-season, the Lakers chose not to use the stretch provision on the veteran point guard. There was a lot of debate swirling about whether the team would part ways with Nash, but apparently the team didn’t see much of a positive in letting him go.

It’ll be interesting to see if that stance changes with the start of the regular season right around the corner. The Lakers are extremely thin at the point guard position with Ronnie Price currently being the only healthy player on the team at floor general.

Fortunately, Jordan Clarkson and Jeremy Lin aren’t dealing with serious injuries and could be back sooner rather than later, but Nash’s persistent injury problems will continue to be a concern moving forward.
