Jeremy Lin On Kobe Taking Final Shot: ‘I Like Game Winners Too’

The Los Angeles Lakers battled the Oklahoma City Thunder down to the wire, but ultimately came up short falling 104-103 to a very good Thunder team. With the Lakers getting the last shot, the ball was in Kobe Bryant’s hands, but he was unable to convert at the buzzer.

Anytime the Lakers need a clutch shot, chances are the ball is going to be in Kobe Bryant’s hands. But according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters, Jeremy Lin would like a chance to get the win too:

Lin had one of his better games as a Laker, totaling 12 points to go along with eight rebounds and five assists while making 5 for 7 shots from the field. He played well down the stretch and Byron Scott rewarded him by leaving him in during the final minutes.

While Bryant struggled in this game, shooting only 3 for 15 from the field, he has the reputation as a clutch player and has made numerous huge shots throughout the years. Unfortunately, this shot just didn’t go down for him.

Lin did add that he felt Kobe’s shot was a good shot and that he believes that it’s only a matter of time before Kobe is knocking that shot down regularly again. It is good, however, to see that Lin wants the ball in those situations. Those are the kinds of things Kobe likes in his teammates and that attitude will serve Lin well as the season goes on.
