Drew-Goodman Rematch Scheduled for October

With the NBA currently locked out basketball fans have had to look elsewhere for their hard-court action this summer. One of the refuges has been the Los Angeles based Drew League, which has seen players such as Kobe Bryant and James Harden play this summer.

Another such league is Washington D.C.’s Goodman League. Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant is one of the stars that suited up for Goodman during the first meeting between the two leagues on Aug. 21. Goodman defeated Drew League 135-134 after two late Durant free throws clinched it for Washington.

Since that thrilling game fans of both leagues and basketball in general have been begging for a rematch. For awhile it seemed as if it wasn’t meant to be, but news today that the two leagues have settled on a rematch date is certainly exciting.

The game between the Drew League and Goodman League is scheduled to take place on Oct. 9 in Los Angeles at Cal State Dominguez. The time is tentatively scheduled for 5:30 PM PST, according to Drew League commissioner Drew Smiley.
