The Kobe Bryant draft story has been retold several times over and gone down in the annals of NBA history as he went on to become a Hall of Famer with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Now, Nike is paying further homage to the Lower Merion product with a creative release of the Kobe 4 Protro “Draft Day Pack” pack. Arriving at select retailers on June 26, the Kobe “Draft Day Pack” features 14 different possibilities when customers make a purchase.

Given that the Kobe IV Protro “Draft Day Pack” is a randomized, mystery purchase experience, the exact colorway received will not be known until after the shipment has been delivered in the case of online order, or once the sale is complete in person.

The pack consists of 14 total colorways, one each for the 12 teams that passed on drafting Bryant, then one for the Charlotte Hornets and lastly one as well that recognizes his storied Lakers career. Of the 14 pairs, 13 start in a white wear-away upper with team-specific accents and sockliner details.

Each wear continues to work away at uncovering the primary team colors of those who missed out on the five-time champion. The 14th shoe, which is the most limited of the pack, comes in yellow and gold rather than the white upper.

Coinciding with that release is a “Charlotte to LA” colorway of the Nike Dunk Low, in addition to Draft Day t-shirts and Kobe’s No. 8 Lakers icon edition jersey.

The 1996 NBA Draft represented the first time the Lottery was expanded to 13 teams, which was done in order to account for league expansion into Toronto and Vancouver. The 2004 NBA Draft Lottery then increased to 14 teams with the addition of the Charlotte Bobcats.
