Lakers News: Dwight Howard Wants Team to Support Him More

nash, howard, kobeThe Los Angeles Lakers have struggled this season and people have pointed to the lack of cohesion on both ends of the court as the reasons for the putrid record. The team chemistry is not very strong and Dwight Howard wants his teammates to show him more support moving forward.

After the Celtics’ dismantling of the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night, Howard spoke to CSNNE.com and expressed his frustration with how things are unfolding with the team.

“Hopefully they’ll start supporting me the way they need to,” Howard told CSNNE.com. “Until then, I’m going to continue to do whatever I can to help our team win.”

There is surely a disconnect between Dwight Howard and the other Lakers players. The Lakers are running out of time and if they cannot figure it out soon, this team will be on the outside looking in come playoff time. In order for this team to get back on track, all of the players need to be on the same page and they have to support everyone on the roster.

However, perhaps the most important relationship on this Lakers team is the one between Kobe Bryant and Howard. Bryant has been hard on Howard this season, and the young center has had a difficult time dealing with criticism. Nevertheless, whatever Kobe is doing is for the betterment of the team. Howard has to realize that he must put aside his negativity and make sure he is being the best teammate on and off the court.
