The book was written by World Peace and co-authored by Heddrick McBride, including illustrations from HH-Pax. World Peace has made it a tradition to make headlines during the off-season in the past couple of years. The veteran forward also released his rap song “Champions” following the Lakers’ 2010 Championship. He followed that up by announcing his name change from Ron Artest to Metta World Peace during the summer of 2011.

World Peace is one of the most active players during the off-season at promoting new things. He has actively promoted mental health awareness, despite being the recipient of the longest suspension in NBA history following his altercation in Detroit where he entered the stands during a Pacers-Pistons brawl in the 2004-2005 season.

During his career in the NBA, World Peace has played for five teams throughout his career, was an All-Star in 2004 and was the winner of the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2004 as well. World Peace is the only perimeter player to win the award in the last 16 years.

The immediate future of World Peace with the Lakers is up in the air at this point. World Peace has a player option to for the 2013-2014 season, which is the final year of his five year contract. The 33-year-old, who will be entering his 15th season, averaged 12.4 points per game while grabbing five rebounds per game last season. The Lakers have been rumored to possibly use their amnesty clause on World Peace should he opt in to his final year.
