World Peace Says Spurs Beat Heat Because They Trusted Cheese Burger

I love Metta World Peace. Quite frankly I don’t understand how you can’t. The Lakers forward just has a way of making the most simple observations seem much more unique and entertaining.

Take his view on the NBA Finals thus far. This is what he tweeted after the Spurs won Game 1:

The Spurs trusted their Cheese Burger The Heat Cheese Burger was not cooked and the lettuce never showed up

Metta World Peace Cookie Monster
Seems pretty confusing and odd until Metta breaks it down for you, as he explains to Dave McMenamin of ESPN LA:

When you eat a burger, you don’t eat it for the lettuce […]The lettuce has no calories, so it’s not really that important. It’s not like spinach. It’s not important. But, it does make the burger and I believe that everybody is so focused on the actual burger — meaning LeBron and Wade — that they’re forgetting about the team. The team is going to help them win. They do have the best team, but if they don’t play like the best team, they’re going to lose and the Spurs will take advantage of opportunities. That’s why I’m like, without the lettuce — without (Norris) Cole, Ray (Allen), (Udonis) Haslem — without those guys on the team, I don’t know if Miami is going to have a chance.

I’m starting to think Metta was sent down by the Basketball Gods to educate on the true meaning of basketball, because this is pure gold.

One does have to wonder though, if Wade and Lebron are the burger, and Cole, Haslem, Miller etc.  are the lettuce, than what is Chris Bosh? The cheese? Tomato? Onion? Bun? These are the questions in life that need answers and Metta World Peace, you are the only one who can answer them. Enlighten us, oh wise one.
