POLL: Lakers Nation Would Choose Melo Over LeBron

The two biggest targets for the Los Angeles Lakers next summer, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, have both expressed strong desires to stay with their respective teams. James would like to retire with the Miami Heat while Anthony enjoys the challenge of trying to win a championship with the New York Knicks.

We asked Lakers Nation if the team can only sign one of the two players next summer, would it be LeBron or Melo? It was close, but 53 percent want Carmelo Anthony:

It may be surprising that Melo is Lakers Nation’s choice, but he is the more realistic target between the two players. It seems like there’s no reason LeBron will leave Miami as long as the franchise is winning championships. On the other hand, there may be a chance that Anthony won’t be willing to wait two seasons for the Knicks to finally have cap room and build a team to his liking.

There is plenty of time from now to the end of the season and both players have to remain committed to their teams. There are numerous factors during the season that will determine if both players will either re-sign or take their talents elsewhere, so it’s all speculation until next summer.
