During his 17 seasons in the NBA, Allen Iverson became a bonafide superstar and arguably one of the most dominant offensive forces in league history. Although Iverson was unable to win a championship over the course of his career, the future Hall of Famer cemented himself as one of the most iconic players the league had ever seen.

The 39-year-old recently sat down for an interview while in Manila to talk about all things basketball and was asked some interesting questions. One of the questions was centered around Kobe Bryant and whether Iverson was surprised the five-time NBA champion can still play at a high level. Iverson said the following response about Kobe, via PhilStar.com:

“No. Not at all. His work ethic is right where it is supposed to be. His heart is where it is supposed to be. Competitive nature is where it is supposed to be. So I’m not surprised at all that he’s playing on a high level. I mean he’s one of the best to ever do it.”

Along with briefly chiming in on Kobe’s ability to continue playing at a high level, Iverson also named his top five NBA players of all time based on position. Unfortunately, Kobe failed to make the list with the 11-time All-Star naming Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal.
