Andrew Bynum Suspended Following Flagrant Foul

Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum has been suspended for two games following a flagrant two foul on Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

After being obviously frustrated with the lack of a foul call on the offensive end, Bynum elbowed Beasley in the chest as the Minnesota forward was attacking the basket. Beasley fell hard and eventually had to leave the game with an injury.

Bynum will miss tonight’s game with the Portland Trail Blazers and Tuesday night’s game with the Phoenix Suns. Los Angeles will start Lamar Odom in Bynum’s place for the two games.

When asked about the suspension head coach Phil Jackson stated that he thought it was ‘excessive,’ but admitted that when it comes to the league office ‘you never know.’
