According to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports the Los Angeles Clippers have traded guard Baron Davis to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Mo Williams. The rest of the trade includes a 2011 first round pick that will go from Los Angeles to Cleveland and will bring Jamario Moon to the Clippers.
Obviously this trade comes as a bit of a surprise, but it appears to be a salary dump for the Clippers. Not only do they lose Davis’ contract, but now Sterling won’t have to pay the salary of a potential salary player in this summer’s draft. This will come in handy with a potential lockout looming at the end of this season.
Davis spent a few seasons with the Clippers, but arguably his best pass as a member of Los Angeles came this past weekend at the Slam Dunk Contest:
