The Los Angeles Lakers have started to make moves in free agency with Nick Young being the latest player to sign with the team, according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman:

Nick Young has agreed to remain with the Lakers, source told ESPN.

Young opted out of his deal with the Lakers heading into free agency and expressed a desire to stay with the team long-term. Although it was uncertain if the Lakers truly wanted one of the league’s best sixth men back for a higher price, the veteran guard/forward stayed confident things would get worked out.

As a result, the Lakers have re-signed Young to a four-year deal worth $21.5 million, according to David Aldridge of NBA.com:

Nick Young's deal to remain in L.A. with the Lakers is $21.5 million over four years, with a fourth year player option.

Young was arguably the team’s best player last year outside of Pau Gasol. The journeyman came in and shouldered the scoring load for an injured Kobe Bryant by averaging a team-high 17.9 points per game.
