Brook Lopez Calls Playing For Lakers ‘A Dream Come True’
Brook Lopez Calls Playing For Lakers ‘a Dream Come True’

While many are waiting for the Los Angeles Lakers to make another big trade possibly, the team has already made one huge move. Last week the Lakers sent D’Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov to the Nets for Brook Lopez and the 27th pick in the draft.

Lopez is an incredibly talented big man who will bring a lot to the Lakers especially on the offensive end. Lopez is also a local talent, growing up in North Hollywood.

On Wednesday, the Lakers introduced their newest player, and Lopez called the chance to play for the purple and gold a dream come true, according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka was in attendance for Lopez’s introductory press conference and was highly complimentary of the new big man, via Winters:

Lopez’s ability to stretch the floor is a major factor in how effective he can be offensively for the Lakers this season. He shot nearly 35 percent from deep last season in addition to his well-known post skills down low.

His defensive impact can also be overlooked at times as he averages 1.7 blocks per game for his career. Lopez is also the right kind of person the Lakers want in their locker room as a hard worker and veteran who can help the young players develop.

In particular, Lopez could serve as a mentor for young center Ivica Zubac, who shares some similarities with Lopez.

Last season, Lopez averaged 20.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 75 games for the Nets
