UPDATE (September 16, 3:54 PM): The Los Angeles Lakers have officially announced their entire coaching staff according to the Los Angeles Times’ Eric Pincus:

Lakers announce coaching staff under Byron Scott – Mark Madsen, Jim Eyen and Paul Pressey

— Eric Pincus (@EricPincus) September 16, 2014

Also on Scott’s staff will be Clay Moser, Larry Lewis, Thomas Scott, Tom Bialaszewski & JJ Outlaw

Byron Scott had been saying that his coaching staff would be finalized soon, but while names had been rumored, very little had been finalized.

That has now changed as Mark Medina of the LA Daily News reports that Scott has named his staff:

Scott’s staff will be Jim Eyen, Paul Pressey, Mark Madsen as assts; Larry Lewis & Thomas Scott as assts/player development. 1 position left

— Mark Medina (@MarkG_Medina) September 9, 2014

That one spot could go to Igor Kokoshov, who Scott confirmed he has interest in bringing on the staff:

Scott confirmed @ESPNSteinLine report about interest in Igor Kokoshov, but said it’s not definitive he will be on.

For Madsen, this is something of a promotion as he served as a player development coach last season under Mike D’Antoni. Lewis is also a holdover from the previous coaching staff.

Eyen has tons of NBA experience and Scott, Byron’s son, and Pressey have both been on Scott’s staff during his previous stops in New Orleans and Cleveland. They should both have a great idea of what Scott expects from his players and be able to implement his style.

Adding Kokoskov to this group would give the Lakers a wide range of coaches with experience in different areas of the basketball world. With Scott getting this done, all that is left is for the coaches and players to come together for training camp and get the season started.
