The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t looked great in their last two games. After looking awful in losing to the New York Knicks, the Lakers failed to defeat an extremely short-handed Atlanta Hawks team on Sunday night.

One bright spot in the two games, however, has been the play of Jabari Brown, who the Lakers recently signed to a 10-day contract. After his second straight solid performance, head coach Byron Scott said the rookie belongs in the NBA according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:
Byron Scott on rookie Jabari Brown: "He's going to belong in this league."

Brown has made seven of his 11 shots in his two games with the Lakers, making good on his reputation as a true scorer. His aggressiveness and athleticism has really shown itself and he has played hard anytime he is on the floor.
With the status of Nick Young still in the air due to his ongoing knee problems, Brown may very well be able to play his way into a second 10-day contract and maybe even a contract through the rest of the season. With the Lakers applying for a hardship waiver, they would be able to make Brown the 16th player on the roster if they chose to.
Scott has said that the end of the season will be about evaluating the young players on the roster. Players like Jordan Clarkson, Ryan Kelly and Tarik Black are sure to see extended minutes down the stretch. Brown could play his way into some good minutes for the Lakers as well.
